Admission to the PhD Program

Talented students seeking to acquire scientific knowledge and technical skills in the focus areas of Clinical Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Digestive Diseases, Neuroscience and Reproductive Biology, and Pathology apply to our PhD in Biomedical Sciences program. Students accepted to the program are matched to a faculty member with compatible research interests who will serve as a mentor. The program fosters students’ communication, critical analysis, and research skills, graduating scientists who will successfully compete in the job market.

Admission to the PhD program is based on an evaluation and recommendation by the PhD Program Committee. Applicants to the program must submit an online application and meet all application requirements by February 1.

Tuition and fees are payable according to Tufts University guidelines. Students passing their preliminary exam may be eligible for a PhD tuition waiver through a school scholarship.
