The Shelter Medicine Program at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University provides content in the core DVM and M.S. in Animals and Public Policy (MAPP) curriculum for all students. In addition there is a selection of experiential and didactic courses that pre-clinical students can take during selective time. Elective rotations in medicine and surgery are available during the clinical year and take place both on and off of Cummings School campus, utilizing a network of partnering organizations.
The curriculum for the study of shelter medicine is organized into a series of Key Domains modified by a list generated by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians.
