Phase I, in which all Tufts University schools participate, is the all-University Commencement ceremony held on the Medford/Somerville campus. It includes the Academic Procession, the awarding of honorary degrees, the all-University Commencement address, recognition of faculty emeriti, conferral of degree candidates by school and the granting of degrees by the Tufts University Board of Trustees.
|8:30 a.m.||Degree candidates should assemble in the appropriate locations according to their alignment areas.|
|8:45 a.m.||The Goddard Chapel bells will begin ringing. This is a reminder that the Academic Procession will begin promptly at 9am when the bells stop ringing.|
|9:00 a.m.||Phase I, all-University Academic Procession begins.|
|9:30 a.m.||Commencement program begins. This ceremony takes place on the lawn between Ballou Hall and Bendetson Hall.|
|11:00 a.m.||Recessional and the end of Phase I Commencement ceremony.|
Phase II consists of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine commencement ceremony held at 3 p.m. on the Grafton campus. The ceremony will be held rain or shine at the Agnes Varis Campus Center.
The class picture will be taken before the Cummings School ceremony. Although there is no limitation on taking pictures during the ceremonies, guests should use discretion and keep passageways clear.
A reception will follow the commencement ceremony. Graduates and their families will have the opportunity to mingle with friends, faculty, and other guests. Light refreshments will be served.
