The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications for a new clinical-track faculty position in emergency and critical care. Anticipated percentage time allocations for this position are 75% clinical service and 25% academic time. Requirements include a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of an American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) residency. Preference will be given to individuals who are ACVECC board certified. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience. Strengths are required in clinical service.
This new position has been created to allow the service to adopt a swing shift schedule to enhance resident mentoring and case management. The selected candidate will join five other faculty members on the Emergency Critical Care Service within the Foster Hospital for Small Animals in North Grafton, MA. Faculty in ECC provide coverage 7 days a week, overseeing the clinical and academic services, with the majority of the shifts during the daytime and early evening. Ample time exists to take advantage of the collaborative environment for clinical and basic research. Responsibilities of the successful applicant will include instruction of residents and interns in all aspects of emergency and critical care, clinical teaching, and primary case management and oversight of patients admitted to the emergency and ICU services.
