Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA, invites applications for a full-time Clinical or Academic-Track position in Zoological Companion Animal Medicine at the assistant professor level. Requirements include a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of a formal residency in zoological companion (exotic) animal medicine. Preference will be given to individuals who are ACZM board certified or board eligible and/or ABVP Avian, Exotic Companion Mammal, or Reptile/Amphibian board certified. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience. Strengths are required in teaching and clinical service. Research experience is desirable.
The selected candidate will join the Zoological Companion Animal Medicine Service within the Foster Hospital for Small Animals of Cummings Veterinary Medical Center, within Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA. This service provides care to companion pet exotic animals including avian, small mammal, and reptile/amphibian species. Zoological species are seen from local zoos and aquaria. Provision of superb patient care, teaching of students, supervision of interns, and clinical research are priorities for the service. The selected candidate will run this service on alternating weeks with weekend back-up provided to the hospital.
